Character & Performance
Rift & Quartered White Oak combines the clean, linear grain of rift-sawn boards with the distinctive ray fleck of quarter-sawn material. The result is a refined floor with natural variety and a strong architectural character.
Our solid, unfinished flooring uses premium Appalachian White Oak and the same precision milling and NOFMA-certified hardwood quality standards as our other White Oak products.
Dimensional stability
Rift and quartered cuts offer a different movement profile from plain-sawn material; proper site conditions remain essential.
Architectural character
Linear grain and ray fleck complement modern, transitional, craftsman, and traditional interiors.
Unfinished flexibility
Coordinate the final color and sheen with your installation and finishing professional.
Solid construction

Is It Right for Your Project?
Choose Rift & Quartered White Oak when the grain is part of the design: long sightlines, wide-plank custom homes, or interiors where subtle variation and natural figuring are welcome.
Rift & Quartered is a cut selection, not a separate species or a promise of identical boards. Samples help establish the expected grain mix, color range, and grade.
Design & Finish
Supplied unfinished to coordinate stain, oil, water-based finishes, texture, and sheen with the rest of your material palette. Review a sample spread to establish the preferred mix of straight grain and ray fleck.
All flooring is supplied unfinished. Your flooring professional should confirm site conditions, acclimation, installation, finishing, and ongoing care for the chosen species and plank width.
Milling & Quality
How is this flooring milled?
Tongue-and-groove profiles, stress-relief grooves on the back of every board, kiln-dried material, and tight machining tolerances support consistent thickness and fit. Each board is visually graded and inspected throughout production. End-matching is standard on most grades and widths; discuss project-specific exceptions with our team.
What quality standards apply?
Our certified hardwood flooring is produced under the NWFA/NOFMA Mill Quality Assurance Program, with independent inspections of grade, moisture content, and milling consistency.
Why choose T&F Lumber?
Premium Appalachian material selected for quality and grain. Straight rift grain pairs with the natural figuring of quartered boards. Consistent profiles and inspections support a reliable fit. Discuss grade, width, and grain preferences before ordering. Our family-guided company manufactures in Monticello, Georgia, with American timber and a commitment to long-term customer relationships.
