Hardwood lumber is our specialty.
Do you want that modern, farmhouse or coastal style for your new home? Adding a wood paneled wall to any home or space can really add A LOT of unique character and variation that cannot be achieved with sheetrock or other wall coverings. T & F Lumber can provide the real wood paneling to give your home that authentic feel for an accent wall or the entire room. Whether you want shiplap or prefer tongue and groove, or maybe another profile, T & F can furnish your needs.
What’s the difference?
The main difference between Shiplap and Tongue and Groove is the profile of the cut boards. Shiplap has a characteristic L-shaped notch that locks into place with the adjacent L-shaped indentation of the next board. Another slight variation on the traditional Shiplap profile which has become VERY popular is referred to as “Nickel-Gap Shiplap” in which boards slightly overlap leaving a thin “Nickel-Gap” between boards.
Tongue and groove boards, however, have a tighter-fitting appearance when installed because the tongue of one board fits precisely in the groove of the neighboring board. Either way, you’ll be glad you chose our hardwood boards whether you choose to paint them white or leave them natural so you can admire the distinctive swirls in the grain.
Do you want wood that is ready to install or ready to be used on your next project? Let us do all the work for you. S4S is an acronym that stands for “surfaced on 4 sides” which means the boards are planed on both surfaces and sides resulting in two perfectly flat and parallel faces and flat and parallel edges. We stock S4S lumber in a variety of species and grades to suit your needs.
If you’re looking for something more rustic, or if you prefer to mill your own wood, we can provide that as well. The eye-catching appeal of our rough-cut wood will enrich the rugged look of any cottage or country-style project.
Whether you’re building a custom home or renovating a historic building, you can trust T & F to reproduce all of the specific dimensions you need for moldings and trim. Our dependable custom millwork department can handle any specifications.
