T&F Lumber Company is the industry’s resource for high-end, all-natural wood flooring, paneling and millwork. T&F traces its lineage to humble beginnings in Southeast Georgia. For centuries, the families who founded T&F have carefully harvested trees from thousands of acres of native forestland and sold lumber all over the world. The founders bought the current facility in Monticello, Georgia in 2017. Now, T&F is continuing its mission to consistently provide our customers with premium quality lumber and flooring products for custom construction projects.
When you buy lumber from T&F you can rest assured that you’ve made the environmentally responsible, sustainable choice. Hardwood forest growth far exceeds harvesting each year meaning that this resource will last for generations to come. Unlike laminate, which uses plastic and glue, our genuine wood products do not depend on non-renewable fossil fuels. Additionally, our wood products will endure indefinitely if properly cared for unlike laminate which will have to be replaced.
At T&F Lumber we carefully select our timber for harvest leaving space for saplings to grow and reproduce for future generations. Maintaining this invaluable resource ensures that the forests continue to produce the oxygen we need to breathe. In addition, thinning the forest reduces the risk of wildfires that can wipe out thousands of acres of trees, natural wildlife habitat and homes.
We waste nothing in the manufacturing process. At the sawmill our debarker double grinds the bark from each log into a mulch product sold to golf courses and landscapers. Wood chips are sold to the pulp and paper mills and sawdust fires the boiler to fuel our dry kilns eliminating the need for fossil fuels. Finally, all of the dry wood chips and sawdust left over from the creation of our signature, wide-plank, long-length boards are sold to wood pellet producers who produce wood pellets for sustainable heating and energy production.
The premium quality of T&F Lumber starts by carefully cultivating and instilling a culture for quality in all our employees. We strive to achieve premium quality from the beginning of the manufacturing process through every step until we deliver the product to our customers.
The manufacturing process starts with the careful selection of raw material. We hand select, saw, and kiln-dry most of our timber at one of two sawmills and drying facilities that are owned and operated by our sister company, T&S Hardwoods. Having the ability to control the product from the forest to the finished product gives us a great advantage over many of our competitors. Any additional lumber required comes from a small network of carefully selected supplier partners.
We continue to pursue our quest for premium quality throughout the manufacturing process through a combination of state-of-the-art machinery and tried and true manufacturing methods. Unlike many flooring manufacturers who prioritize high-speed production over quality to reduce costs and maximize profits, we run our products at much slower speeds. While we may sacrifice potential profitability in the short term, we believe that producing premium quality products builds long-term customer relationships, which is key to building a successful business.
